The Digital BAUM is our platform for networking. It works AI-based and is oriented towards the needs of the users. This makes working in the network efficient and effective. An important area of the platform is the Digital Academy. It contains a selection of highly practical e-learning modules and provides optimal access to the knowledge available within our network.

Our platform is open to all interested parties – whether they are members or not.

What does the platform offer?

As a user of the platform, you can post your own news , like and comment on other people’s posts in the feed. In this way, each member can inform the entire network directly about activities, inquiries and the like and engage into a direct exchange.

The chat allows direct contact with other users.

Both personal profiles and company profiles can be created with information on work focuses, current interests and needs.

In the Digital Academy, interested parties can book e-learning courses relevant to their sustainable business practice.

Under “Events” you will find our calendar of events. Here you can register for BAUM events. BAUM members also have the opportunity to post their own events free of charge.

In the “Projects” section you will find our current project overview. In addition to projects that are already active, project ideas will also be presented in the future. Users of the platform can apply to participate in projects as well as point out their own projects and form consortia on project ideas.

Participants in a BAUM e.V. networking event exchange ideas in person – on the digital platform, this dialogue is supplemented and deepened by news feeds, chats, events, projects and e-learning offers.

FAQ

How does the registration process work in the Digital BAUM?

New users can register on the Digital BAUM under https://app.baumev.de/register. After filling out the registration form, the user will receive an e-mail to confirm the e-mail address provided. If the user clicks on the confirmation, it still has to be approved. If the user is the first of his organisation – the system recognizes this based on the domain – the approval is carried out by BAUM. If there are already users of the same organisation, the approval is done by the admin. They will receive an e-mail to confirm the new user. After approval, the user receives an e-mail to set the password and is successfully registered.

If you have any problems with the registration process, please contact Philip Mathies (Project Manager of the Digital BAUM, )

Further information can be found in the FAQ section “Everything about “Admin of an organisation”.

Everything you need to know about "Admin of an organisation"

Who is the admin of an organisation? Can this role be passed on?

The first user of an organisation automatically becomes the admin of an organisation. If other users from the same organisation are added, admin rights can be passed on to existing users. Multiple users can also receive admin rights. The allocation takes place in the organisational profile in the tab “Mitglieder”.

What are the tasks and rights of admins?

Who should ideally be an admin?

Ideally, the admin role should be performed by the BAUM contact person or a person who takes care of administrative tasks of the organisation. In general, the person should be aware of the tasks and rights.

Why can't I register with my public domain address?

This is because the logic of the platform is structured in such a way that the user assignment to an organisation is done automatically based on the company domain. Therefore, users with the same domain are also assigned to the same organisation. Allowing public domain addresses, such as gmx.de, gmail.com, t-online.de, etc., would result in all users with the same public domain being assigned to the same organisation. For BAUM members who do not have access to a company domain, we are working on a technical solution.

What are permission levels and what are they?

The implementation of different permission levels gives us the opportunity to provide different functions to different groups of users. There are currently two levels of authorisation for users. On the one hand, there is the group of member companies, whose users can fill the post feed and put events in the event calendar (function only possible for admins). The second group includes all other sustainability enthusiasts who are not BAUM members. With the exception of the features mentioned, all other services offered by Digital BAUM are available to them as well. You can recognize your authorization level by the L3 or L4 label in the member area in your organisation profile.

What information is publicly displayed in the Digital BAUM?

In addition to mandatory information such as the user’s first and last name and their affiliation with the organisation, the community can also view details of their participation in events. Other information, such as job title, interests or “About me” are voluntary.

Who is allowed to publish academy courses?

The publication of eLearning courses in the BAUM Akademy is reserved for our content partners. If you would like to offer application-oriented, practice-relevant eLearning courses in our Academy, you have the option of applying with your learning content via our form.

How can I delete my data?

If you would like to have your account deleted, please send an e-mail to Philip Mathies (Project Manager of the Digital BAUM, ). A deletion concept that automatically deletes accounts after a certain period of time in which the user has been inactive will be implemented shortly. In this case, you will receive an e-mail that sets a deadline after which the account will be deleted. Logging in to the Digital BAUM again prevents this deletion.
